My success lies in my ability to be fully present with my clients, to cut to the heart of what is true for each person, and to open up choices that can lead to measurable change. I orient myself in Gestalt Therapy, meaning I focus on working with the body’s wisdom, and engaging all parts of you, and weaving you back into the web of relationships you live in, as a path to healing. This approach has as its foundation that you, the client, are the expert on your own experience; I am here to facilitate your process and offer some tips for navigating the sometimes stormy seas.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI (2000) and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS, 2006). I have worked in the field of substance abuse since 2008, and was licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist in 2011 (MFT #50588). I am a member of the professional organization for MFTs called CAMFT, in both the San Francisco & East Bay chapters. I believe that continuing education is hugely important to continue to be up to date on the latest information in the field and to provide my clients with the best possible care.
I enjoy bicycling, hiking, reading, making art, and spending time with friends and family. In addition to this, I love to spend time with my friend & her triplet toddlers, enjoying their company and watching them grow.
